Tomorrow is my 27th Birthday! In honor...I thought I would share 27 things about myself! This was not easy to come up with :)...and I even found some pictures to share so it's not too boring!!! We'll start with one of me as a toddler!

1. I was born in Sarasota, Florida…the beach will always be home.
2. I hate cold weather; it seriously makes me angry sometimes.
3. Regardless of the above, I wear flip flops all year!
4. There are 9 kids in my family…6 girls and 3 boys. I am the 2nd oldest.

5. My special birthday breakfast, since childhood, is waffles with strawberries (fresh and thawed frozen ones with whipped cream)…I love it!!!
6. I love strawberries…they are my favorite food!
7. I went to 5 high schools
Freshman: St. Pius
Sophomore: a religious all girls Boarding School in Rhode Island
Junior: Norcross & Duluth
Senior: Buford Class of 2000
8. My house burned down at the beginning of my junior year in high school. I was home alone with my sister when the fire started…no, we had nothing to do with it!
9. After our house burned down I lived on my own (with a single relative of a family friend)…I received a scholarship based on an essay I wrote about this time.
10. I played basketball on a co-ed team…I was the only girl…I was pretty good.
11. I had a short modeling career as a child...(pictured below lol)

12. The Notebook is one of the greatest love stories/movies ever.
13. Since having a child, I have a bad habit of starting and forgetting to finish books.
14. I used to paint…the last thing I painted was for Raleigh’s nursery.
15. The last book I finished and the last thing I painted were both while I was on bed rest.
16. When I was 20 I decided I needed a change…so I picked a random place I had never been, got a job and an apartment there…adopted a puppy and moved to Savannah. I didn’t know anyone. It was the best decision I could have made at the time and I am so happy I did it!
17. The first really nice camera I had was the ONLY thing my puppy ever destroyed….nice!
18. I met my husband at a cookout in the backyard of a friend’s grandfather’s house, I picked him up.
19. We were engaged on Christmas morning, after 7 months of dating.
20. We were married on November 5, 2005 on Anna Maria Island, Florida.
21. The first time I left the country was for our honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
22. My little sister is pregnant and I am SOOO excited to be an aunt for the first time!
23. I think my daughter is one of the coolest people I have ever met. She is strong willed, spirited, intelligent, independent, loving and beautiful. I am so proud of her.

24. I am so blessed to have some of the greatest friends anyone could ask for. They are the truest people I have ever known and for this I will be eternally grateful.
25. I believe that all things happen for a reason and that if you don’t learn the lesson the first time…life will keep repeating until you learn the lesson you need to!
26. I am a very strong and passionate person…I love hard and I fight hard.
27. 519 Photography was named for May(5) 19, which is my daughter Raleigh's Birthday. Being able to make a living doing something I love so much is something I am incredibly grateful for!

I am in need of a couple boudoir models. You don't need to be a professional model or have a perfect figure...you just need be brave :)!!! No experience necessary. I just need more boudoir photos for display in my portfolio. Due to the intimate nature of this type of photography, most sessions are completely private and I am not able to use them!

You will receive a FREE boudoir session in a boutique hotel and $200 worth of prints, all you have to do is sign a model release saying that I can use your pictures for display/ads and my portfolio.

Your session will be an artistic and empowering experience. An all female staff will help you with posing and outift choices. You bring your own outfits, so it is only as risque as YOU want it to be. All of your images will be retouched. Contact me ASAP if you are interested. You can even bring your girlfriends along. I am looking for a diverse group and time is limited because I need these very very soon.

We all know someone who has experienced a recent tragedy or loss, is struggling to stay afloat in this difficult economy, is working every day proving they are a survivor or is experiencing some kind of hardship. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cincredible that so many bare each day. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty. You know someone who deserves a smile.

The rules:

We're Off for Vacation!!!

Tomorrow morning way too early (in what will apparently be freakishly cold weather) my family and I are headed to the airport!!! We'll be going to Phoenix, Arizona for two weeks of vacation visiting my husband's family!! Apparently the weather is what my mother in law refers to as chilly and 75 :)!!! This is Raleigh's first flight...so say your prayers that my "sweet" 18 month old little lady is on her best behavior!!

Raleigh is not interested in modeling for me these days...or really doing anything I want her to when I want her to. Today, while I was sitting at the kitchen table working, she came over and wanted to sit with me and color. I brought her stuff out and we sat and worked together for about 30 minutes...it was really great :)!! A little moment...but one of those that helps to get you through the tantrums! Boudoir Photography

This week I had the incredibly fun opportunity to take boudoir pictures for a couple friends of mine! First of all...my friends (who both have young toddlers) are smoking hot. Secondly, what a fun and empowering experience this was, for myself and my friends! Many people have questions about this type of photography, so I wanted to try to give you some answers!

What is boudoir photography?
It's a suggestivly sexy style of photography. Many brides these days are having them done as a wedding day gift from a bride to her groom. Many wives and Mothers are having them done as gifts for their husbands. Boudoir photos are usually taken wearing very little or, well, nothing at all. These are not pornographic, X-rated images, They are more like PG-13...in the style of classic pinup-inspired pics. Nude pictures are done in what is called 'implied nudes.' That means you're not wearing anything, but you're also not showing off anything either (think shot from the back, or lying on your stomach).

My body isn't perfect, should I still have pictures taken?
First of all...everyone's body is unique and beautiful. If you are thinking of taking these for your boyfriend, fiance or husband...he thinks you are beautiful just as you are. If you are taking these for yourself, don't worry...as a professional it is my job to showcase what you love and hide what you don't! The angles from which I shoot, the light, the hair and make up and the clothing (or lack there of) all come together to make you feel like the sexy and empowered woman you want to present!

Who will take my pictures?
I take and process all boudoir images myself. There is complete confidentiality.

When should I schedule the session?
If you're planning these as a gift I recommend scheduling your session for about 4-6 weeks prior to the date you want them ready to be delivered! They can be available faster then that, but that's my recommendation!

How long does it take?
Though it depends on the package you choose, your boudoir photo session will probably last about two hours. Why so long? It takes time for hair and makeup, it may also take you a little while to relax. Most women aren't used to lounging around wearing little, if any, clothing in front of the camera, so your first few shots will likely look a bit stiff.

What does it cost?
Please inquire about our different packages. We will be running a Boudoir Special in the month of January...perfect for Valentine's Day gifts!!!

Where should I have it done?
A posh hotel room or a Bed and Breakfast are great options. Your own home or a borrowed home is another option. The main key is to get an okay from your photographer on the locale -- a number of different backgrounds for poses are important, and they'll also need lots of natural light.

What should I wear?
This is the most important and most fun part of the process!!! Basically, choose outfits that make you feel sexy. A good rule of thumb: Bring something white, something black, and something in a bright color so you can mix and match. A corset will create sexy curves. A great pair of stilletos is almost a necessity...it makes your legs look fabulous and they are just terribly sexy! Don't forget jewelry...pearls, diamonds, drop earrings etc.

Should I bring anyone along?
I recommend bringing a friend. The session I did this week with 2 friends was so laid back and fun...laughing and joking the entire time! Also, having a friend there provides a different perspective and source of ideas! Another idea is to bring a bottle of champagne or wine. A little drinkmay help loosen things up.

This past month has been incredible. Busy, Busy, Busy, Busy!!! I always do my best to have your portrait session images to you within two weeks. I am running a couple days over right now, but believe me, I am burning the midnight oil working on your pictures. My family and I are going out of town for 2 weeks soon and it is my (perhaps ridiculous) goal to be completely caught up with all work by this vacation...at this point, I'm not feeling terribly confident in this goal!!!

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary Honey, I love you :)

More Costumed Cuties

Today Raleigh and I had some of our friends over for a little Halloween get together!! How cute are these kiddos?! Eli rocked this shoot...seriously posing and grinning, kicking and throwing his soccer ball around!

Aubrey was the cutest little cheerleader (regardless of the Ohio State uniform) :)

This handsome little man is Jackson...we passed him around and all got our babyfix! I cannot wait to do their family pictures next weekend!

Miss Gracie was not all that interested in letting us take her picture...which is sad because she was ridiculously cute in her 50's poodle skirt!!!

So we brought Raleigh outside to loosen her up...they were sooo cute!

Busy Day Part II

It was such a pleasure to meet these little ones today! Really, they were so sweet, happy...and just adorable!! Not to mention their mom's were pretty cool! I wonder if I can invite myself to a playdate ;)? Haha, I'm only kind of kidding!

This is Tucker, the sweet little man who apparently is quite the ladie's man.

Miss Reese was sooooo cute!! She brought her dolly with her for pictures in a matching dress and kept asking for 'tuck tuck' (tucker)! Need I mention the gorgeous eyes?!

Jo is one of the greatest mothers I have had the pleasure to meet. She's a wonderful friend and a strong incredible woman...I love how she looks at her family!

Jo is also trying make us all look bad, because this little guy knows his alphabet already!! Not just saying it...he can recognize all his letters!!! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it, but he was playing with my bucket of blocks and he said each letter and brought these blocks to his mom...

Hmmmm....hopefully these were not his feelings on our shoot!!

Last weekend my husband and I drove to Alabama for the Christening of beautiful miss Sophia. Angel thinks of every detail, including beautiful pink rose centerpieces, pictures of sophia in little silver frames as favors for the guests and her mother in law's famous Champagne punch!

Fall is Here

Richard and I took Raleigh to the fair tonight...the evening was not nearly as full of wonder as these images may make you think...but 10 years from now, I may just remember her awe at the noises and lights and screams. Maybe I'll remember her ride on the 'Finding Nemo' Ride with the debatable fearful/thrilled look on her face. Or her watching Daddy fish for a prize. I may not know any better and will have forgotten the enormous melt down that led to our exit :). Never the less...she has a good time and really, isn't that what matters!!

What do you think? Thrilled? Terrified? If you know Raleigh you know she's a lover of anything dangerous...so though she was quite unsure, My bet is she liked it. (Sorry for the crappy picture here...it was a quick shot b/c she needed to see my face lol)

Fall Mini Sessions Part 2

Our afternoon session was a little shorter than planned...but wow...CUTIE PIES for sure! Thomas is such a handsome and well behaved little 2 year old, not to mention the sweetest big brother. His 8 month old little sister Charlotte has, as you will see, beautiful brown curls and really, just the most contagious and gigantic grin ever seen!!! Their session was followed by serious Mr. Matteo...I caught a few little grins, but I swear as soon as he sees me get near the camera he stops smiling :)!!!

Welcome to 519 Photography The Blog!!! Last week we launched our website www.519photography.com and it is with great pleasure that we launch our blog! So, I am going to start by telling you a little about who we are.

519 Photography is the working passion of myself and my husband, Richard. We met at a picnic in May 2004. We were engaged after 7 months and married 11 months after that! We bought our first home in February of 2007 and in May welcomed into our lives the person that made us a family, Raleigh Elizabeth. Since her birth, my love for photography has grown almost as quickly as she has. At first she was the primary target...then her friends, then her friends families, then friends of her friends...and so it began! MW Photography was launched almost a year ago and has been a beautiful and rewarding experience for me. Richard has gotten the itch and decided he can't stay out of it any longer...so he is now joining me!

We love our Family, our friends and each other. We value the comforts of a casual 'lived in' life. Our photography style is reflective of our personal values. We are casual, laid back and strive to capture the essence of each of our clients.

Our blog will be updated regularly with 'teaser' pictures from recent sessions, Specials, announcements...and the occasional bit of semi-interesting personal information :)I'm pretty good about updating...if I'm not...feel free to bug me and demand some updates :)!!!
